Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, and maintaining roofs on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work at heights. The ideal applicant will possess relevant experience in construction and roofing, with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. Duties
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine roofing specifications and materials needed.
- Install new roofs using appropriate materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheets, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components, including flashing, gutters, and vents.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble roofing materials.
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow.
- Apply welding techniques where necessary for metal roofing or structural support components.
- Assist with masonry or carpentry tasks related to roof structures when required.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing or construction environments is essential.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and saws; power tools including drills and nail guns; welding equipment; and fabrication machinery.
- Familiarity with masonry, carpentry, plumbing or masonry skills is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.
- Experience working at heights with appropriate safety measures in place is preferred.
