About the role
GFD Trading is looking for an organised, detail-focused Order Processing Coordinator to join our head office team in Thornaby.
You'll help manage customer orders from confirmation through to supplier processing, delivery and installation. Many of our products are made to order, so accuracy is essential — every detail is checked before being sent to the supplier.
This role suits someone who enjoys admin, problem-solving and working with technical product information. You don't need to come from the windows and doors industry — full training is provided — but you must be comfortable learning product details and checking information carefully.
What you'll do
- Process customer orders accurately and check details before supplier submission.
- Review order information, product specifications and customer requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding live orders, queries, delivery updates and amendments.
- Speak with retail and trade customers when order information needs to be confirmed.
- Help manage orders from survey stage through to installation or delivery.
- Keep customers updated with relevant order and delivery information.
- Use our internal systems to keep order records accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with sales, customer service, suppliers and installation partners.
What we're looking for
- Accurate, organised, and confident working with detail.
- Background in order processing, admin, data entry, scheduling, logistics, manufacturing admin, trade counter support, technical admin, sales support or customer service.
- Comfortable using computer systems and entering information accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Confident checking details and spotting errors before they become problems.
- Enjoy learning new products and processes.
