Here at Ashbourne Community Transport, we are a community transport charity with decades of experience. We connect people with services and events that other transport can not provide. We have a fleet of modern accessible vehicles ranging from a car to buses. We have our main office in Ashbourne and also operate from Burton, Warslow and Glossop areas too.
We also have the Ashbourne Little Bus Company which is our private hire minibus business that offers passenger transport for private events. Ashbourne Little Bus Co provides the much-needed financial support that the community transport charity needs to function.
Our roles are vary varied and we are looking for a D license driver that can support our business side with the ocasional work for the Charity. We also help plan and pay for training and refresher training. The ideal location would either be in Ashbourne or Burton on Trent to help undertake one of our school contracts.
We are looking for a zero hour or self employed driver in Ashbourne or for someone in Burton we could offer a part time role.
Desirable candidate experience
The ideal candidate would have experience within a professional driving environment and meet all/some of the criteria, but we can offer training and support in many of these areas for the right candidate.
- Full UK driving license (This is a must, ideally no points but a maximum of 6 points)
- As most of our fleet are minibuses, so a D1 entitlement on your driving license and one service requires a D licence but this is not essential. Candidates must be PCV CPC holders.
- Experience within a similar role
- Located either in Ashbourne or Burton area or the ability to commute.
What does the role involve
- Completing daily vehicle inspections
- Driving a range of vehicles
- Keeping your vehicle clean and tidy
- Passenger interaction
- Some cash management
- Using a Ticketer system (training will be provided)
