Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our well established and respected company. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical components to a very high standard
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to diagnose issues accurately
- Assist with the installation of new parts and components following manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
- Perform heavy lifting when handling parts or equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety standards
- Current MOT tester accreditation would be an advantage
Requirements
- Proven experience with vehicle maintenance and repair processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for effective customer interaction
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during repairs
- Prior experience in an automotive environment
- A minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- a full, valid, clean UK driving licence
- To be able to carry out oil changes and small services off-site in our fully equipped service vehicle
- Must have your own tools.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £36,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
