Red Recruitment 24:7 are advertising on behalf of our client for Poultry Farm Operatives based around the Alford area.
This is a hands-on role working across poultry farms, ideal for candidates who are reliable, hardworking, and comfortable working in an agricultural environment.
Job Details
- £13.00 per hour
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern typically available
- Additional shift patterns may be available including 6 on 1 off or 12 on 2 off
- 7:00am starts
- Finish times between 3:30pm – 5:00pm depending on workload
- Farms located within approximately 25 miles of Alford
- Candidates may be required to work across multiple sites
Duties Include
- Carrying out daily welfare checks on chickens
- Collecting eggs and ensuring they move correctly onto belts
- Checking feed and water supplies
- Identifying and reporting sick birds
- Removing deceased birds in line with procedures
- Walking outdoor ranges to check fencing and bird welfare
- Packing eggs and removing rejects or damaged eggs
- Cleaning sheds and work areas including brushing and mopping
- Maintaining high hygiene and welfare standards at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Full driving licence essential
- Own transport essential
- Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for long periods
- Honest, reliable, and hardworking
- Comfortable working around animals
- Must be willing to prioritise animal welfare
- Must be willing to wear PPE including paper overalls and face masks when required
- Due to the working environment, this role is not suitable for candidates with breathing-related illnesses such as asthma
