About Gaza Sunbirds
The Gaza Sunbirds are Palestine’s para-cycling team and humanitarian initiative, empowering amputee athletes to serve their communities through sport and solidarity. Since 2023, the team has led large-scale aid operations, food distributions, and community resilience projects across Gaza, while continuing its mission to represent Palestine internationally in para-cycling competitions.
Role summary
To manage Gaza Sunbirds’ public platforms, translate organisational priorities into publishable content, coordinate production, protect editorial standards, and ensure that what goes out is strategically coherent, politically aware, and reputationally safe.
Core responsibilities
1. Content Strategy and Planning
- Translate campaign and advocacy priorities into clear content plans, formats, and storytelling approaches.
- Develop content structures that align with key campaign moments and event cycles.
- Publish content upon receiving final approval.
2. Editorial Standards and Quality Control
- Define and maintain editorial guidelines, including tone, language, and political framing.
- Review and filter all submitted content to ensure alignment with editorial standards and strategic messaging before final approval.
3. Content Briefs and Production Guidance
- Create content tickets and production briefs outlining messaging, format, creative direction, and filming requirements.
- Communicate filming and submission guidelines and deadlines to athletes, video editors, and team videographers.
4. Athlete and Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary content interface for athletes, providing guidance on what to film and what should not be posted publicly.
- Coordinate content needs and timelines with athletes, PR partners, event stakeholders, and the Gaza-based production team.
5. Workflow and System Development
- Develop and implement clear workflows and coordination systems to support content planning, production, and publication.
- Structure processes that allow content production to scale efficiently around major events.
6. Responsibility and Content Ownership
- The right candidate will be ready to take full ownership over the Sunbirds platforms and their success in coordination with senior management.

What we’re looking for
- Strong editorial judgment in political / advocacy contexts
- Good political awareness particularly regarding Palestine and the Middle East
- Excellent English; Arabic strongly preferred (applicants without Arabic proficiency must prove solid understanding of cross-language content management)
- Experience shaping content strategy and standards
- Comfortable working hands-on in lean teams
- Calm, precise, and highly accountable
- Knowledge of video editing softwares and jargon appreciated
