Job Purpose:
This is a true Business Partnering role, working closely with managers to act as a trusted advisor and
coach, supporting across the full range the employment cycle. Supporting a range of services across our
UK operations the role will require travel to our sites including overnight stays.
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive, professional advice on complex and sensitive
employee relations matters, so a strong knowledge of UK legislation and experience in managing employee
relations activity is a key part of the role.
A key part of the role will be to support with the mobilisation of new services as we continue to grow and
expand our services across the UK. A strong knowledge of TUPE and experience of managing complex
TUPE transfers is essential.
Working with colleagues in the People & Culture team, you will assist with shaping and delivering a wide
range of People & Culture initiatives across; people development, talent management, succession
planning, belonging, employee experience, retention, recognition, performance and culture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a People Business Partner, you will work closely with managers and senior leaders to deliver a proactive, high-quality HR service that supports organisational objectives and drives positive people outcomes. You will provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability, TUPE, bullying and harassment, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice. You will partner with operational teams to develop people strategies, support organisational change, workforce planning, performance improvement, recruitment and retention initiatives, and employee engagement activities. The role will involve analysing people data and KPIs to identify trends, risks and opportunities, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and leading on learning and development programmes, including manager training, onboarding and appraisal processes. You will also contribute to the delivery of the People & Culture strategy, lead and support HR projects, champion organisational values, promote employee wellbeing and safeguarding, and build strong relationships across the business to foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace.
Essential Requirements:
Professional CIPD level 7 qualification – or committed to achieving within agreed timescale (including assessment of relevant experience).
Evidence of commitment to own and others’ continuing personal development
Managing complex TUPE
Developing and implementing innovative people plans
Successfully implementing change
Delivering advice and guidance on complex employee relations / people issues
Willing and able to travel to sites across the UK including overnight stays.
