Justteachers is working with an SEN school who are looking for a full time or part time Teaching assistant who has experience working with children with SEMH before. This school is a well-respected educational institution in Leicestershire, dedicated to providing specialized support and education to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Responsibilities:
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting SEMH students.
- Work closely with SEMH students, providing individualised support and assistance to help them manage their social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create and implement behaviour management plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and social development.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to SEMH students, helping them build self-esteem and develop coping skills.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to monitor and report on student progress.
- Working with students who are also physically disabled
Things you will need:
- Experience working within a special needs school, but not essential
- Experience working with SEMH students
- Experience working in Primary schools or Secondary schools as a teaching assistant
- Two references
- Passionate about your work
- Wants to make a difference to young people’s education
- Have an idea about supporting children with SEN in education would be beneficial.
