Very enthusiastic friendly team of four, Cooking great Gastropub FRESH food.. Daily Home baked breads, lots of fresh fish and pub classics.. We need a Sous Chef to help push the food offering forward and help our head manage the team... Running the kitchen when our head is away.. Nice clean kitchen.. We sell our own own foraged wild garlic pesto & marmalade... Must be happy & into great food!!..

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Second Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality control.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Support the development of new menu items and culinary initiatives in collaboration with the Head Chef.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience with team management capabilities.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
