Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and educational support to young children in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
- Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards
- Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment
- Assist with the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns when necessary
- Drive nursery vehicles for outings or appointments as required (where applicable)
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations and team coordination
- Knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood education principles
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and independence
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or staff when needed
- A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
