Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various commercial and residential sites. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of gas equipment
- Diagnose faults using specialised tools and techniques, then perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to carry out installation and repair tasks
- Perform heavy lifting when handling equipment or materials safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols at all times during site visits and operations
- Assist in the assembly of new systems or components as required
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of tools and equipment to various sites
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar mechanical trade role
- Competence in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly tasks
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised mechanical equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to gas systems and appliances
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations or repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving purposes
- Experience with electrical systems or additional certifications related to gas safety (desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance
