Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to join our alloy wheel refurbishing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathe machines to recut diamond cut alloy wheels. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience with various machining techniques. Duties
- Set up and operate lathe machines to recut diamond cut alloy wheels
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised tooling to perform machining tasks accurately.
- Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on machinery to optimise performance.
- Assist with welding, assembly, and straightening when necessary.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards by recognising potential hazards around equipment and work areas.
- Maintain organised work areas, record production data accurately, and adhere to quality control procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
- Knowledge of grinding, milling, welding, and assembly processes is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge including tooling selection.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and specialised machining equipment.
- Prior exposure to working in environments that require adherence to safety protocols is preferred.
