Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook on a temporary basis to join our team, this will be for a period of 3 - 6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established recipes and food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise culinary skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality food service. The position is ideal for individuals with a passion for food preparation and experience working in fast-paced kitchens.
The hours are - Monday - Friday 08.00 - 14.00 (week 1) and Tuesday - Friday 08.00 - 14.00 (week 2).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following specified recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles, ideally within a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or culinary roles is desirable but not essential
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work hours as required
