About the Role:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to work as SEN Teaching Assistants across primary and secondary schools in Leeds. This role involves working closely with students who have SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or other related conditions, providing tailored support to help them succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.
- Encouraging positive behaviour management techniques.
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Working closely with school staff and external professionals to implement EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
- Building strong relationships with students to foster confidence and self-esteem.
- Creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A passion for working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
- No prior experience necessary – full training provided, but experience in a similar setting is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain patient, resilient, and adaptable.
- A willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
- A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
