We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Martial Arts Club Instructor / Supervisor to run a weekly after-school Martial Arts Club at a primary school in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. This role gives children the opportunity to build fitness, coordination, discipline, and confidence while learning beginner martial arts skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
The club runs term-time only, with sessions lasting 1 hour per week (day and timings to be confirmed).
In addition, we are also looking to expand our provision and would welcome interest from candidates able to run any of the following clubs:
Art Club and Creative Writing Club, as well as Musical Theatre Club, Singing / Glee Club, Recorder Club, Percussion Club, and Yoga Club.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in beginner-friendly martial arts sessions.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that develop physical skills, focus, discipline, and self-control.
- Encourage confidence, respect, teamwork, and enjoyment through martial arts practice.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children’s participation and progress.
- Ensure all equipment and activity spaces are safe, organised, and ready for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching martial arts, karate, or similar disciplines to children in schools, clubs, or community settings.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Relevant martial arts qualifications or coaching experience are highly desirable.
Pay: £28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1.0 per week
