MET Technician
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 15:00-01:00 (60-minute unpaid break) and Friday, 15:00-19:00 (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £18.11 per hour (£37,781 per annum)
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting for experienced MET Technicians to join a busy automotive preparation centre in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced operation and work alongside an experienced bodyshop team carrying out strip and refit duties across a wide range of vehicles.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment.
The Role:
As an MET Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Removing and refitting body panels and trim components in preparation for repair and paint
- Stripping and refitting new parts and components
- Ensuring vehicles are reassembled to manufacturer standards
- Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
- Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively within the bodyshop team
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
The Person:
- Previous experience working as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter, or similar automotive bodyshop role
- Industry qualifications are advantageous, although candidates with a minimum of two years' relevant experience will also be considered
- Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong time management, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, organised, and professional approach to work
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
