Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated Duty Manager to support the day-to-day operations of The Brunch & Cocktail Club. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences.
As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of service, supporting and developing the team, maintaining high operational standards, and helping create the vibrant atmosphere that our guests know and love. You will play a key role in our busy brunch service, including our popular bottomless brunch events, while also assisting with private hire functions and occasional evening operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily venue operations to ensure smooth, efficient service throughout all trading periods.
- Support the delivery of our bottomless brunch experience, ensuring excellent service standards and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in managing private hire events and evening functions when required.
- Ensure all areas of the venue are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures in line with company standards.
- Monitor compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support the front-of-house team during service.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development.
- Promote a positive, energetic, and team-focused working environment.
- Lead by example, delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
- Manage staff performance and provide coaching where necessary.
Customer Experience
- Ensure every guest receives a welcoming and memorable experience.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally and effectively.
- Help maintain the fun, vibrant atmosphere that reflects The Brunch & Cocktail Club brand.
- Support initiatives that drive customer engagement and repeat business.
Stock & Financial Controls
- Assist with stock management, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise wastage.
- Support the achievement of sales targets and profitability goals.
- Ensure company procedures relating to cash handling and stock control are followed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar hospitality leadership role.
- Experience working in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Flexibility to work a mixture of daytime, weekend, and occasional evening shifts.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within a brunch-focused, cocktail-led, or premium hospitality venue.
- Knowledge of cocktails, coffee service, and beverage operations.
- Experience managing private events and functions.
- Personal Licence Holder qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Understanding of hospitality trends and customer engagement.
