We are looking for an experienced Early Years professional to lead our nursery rooms.
This position would suit someone who is confident leading a team, maintaining high standards, supporting staff development, and taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a room.
The role is primarily room-based and working within ratio. For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to take on wider leadership responsibilities over time.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the organisation and leadership of our nursery room, ensuring children receive high-quality care and learning experiences while supporting staff to deliver consistent practice.
You will work closely with the nursery leadership team and contribute to the ongoing development of the setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of a nursery room.
- Support and supervise practitioners within the room.
- Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, behaviour management, and teaching.
- Monitor children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Complete observations, assessments, and planning to a high standard.
- Build positive working relationships with parents and carers.
- Ensure the room remains organised, well-resourced, and compliant with nursery policies and procedures.
- Support new staff members and contribute to their development.
- Work with the leadership team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes where needed.
Essential Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- Ideally 5+ years' experience working in an Early Years setting.
- Experience leading a room or supervising other practitioners.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and support a team effectively.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on practice with leadership responsibilities.
- Willing to work within ratio and lead by example from the floor.
