We are looking for a full-time member of staff to join us as an early years educator in our nursery.
The Lodge has exceptionally high standards to maintain, we are respected for our work by our families and our Little Lodgers. The person to fill this role must be forward thinking and show those special qualities that are so important to us here.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is level 3 qualified but if you have a level 2 and are willing to up-skill to level 3 while with us then do please get in touch.
We will need you to have or be prepared to complete the requirements below, these can be carried out in house prior to commencement of the role for the successful applicant.
Current DBS Certificate and on the update service. Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children Certificate and Basic Food Hygiene.
Our team are at the heart of everything that we do here at The Lodge and we need some extra special qualities to make us shine so if:
You can read the same story 25 times and still be animated and excited by it. You can be a racing driver, a fairy princess, a fire fighter and a footballer all in one day to support imaginative play. You can think outside the box and make anything in the world with a cardboard box. You never ever get full up when eating playdough food. You can simultaneously catch a child, hug a child and make another child smile. You can still smile when the milk has gone over for the tenth time. You are able to eat your lunch while someone sneezes and someone else calls you to the bathroom. You are able to be freezing cold in the garden but still smile and enjoy the space and time with the children. You have a song for every occasion. Then you could be just the person that we are looking for, in addition to these qualities we need you to be:
Reliable, flexible and able to use your own initiative along with being resourceful and creative. A team player, who can contribute ideas but also embrace those of others. Able to accept challenge and change to practice.
Able to facilitate activities where children can explore Able to engage appropriately with families in many different situations, showing empathy, kindness, fun and a sense of humour. Able to support experienced members of the team to plan appropriate activities to facilitate children’s next steps in their learning.
