Footwear Design Assistant – Swansea
We are seeking a creative and motivated Footwear Design Assistant to join our Swansea-based team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years of experience in footwear or fashion design to develop their career within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Role
Working alongside the Senior Footwear Designer and product development team, you will assist in the creation and development of footwear collections from concept through to production. The role involves supporting design research, preparing technical documentation, coordinating collections, and helping ensure smooth communication throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of seasonal footwear collections and presentation materials
- Create and update CAD drawings, colourways, and technical sketches
- Conduct research into materials, colours, and design trends
- Support the preparation and maintenance of technical packs and related documentation
- Organise and maintain design files, range plans, and collection information
- Liaise with suppliers and product development teams to support ongoing projects
- Participate in sample reviews and collection meetings
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related discipline
- 1–2 years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- Good understanding of materials, colour, proportion, and design principles
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Passion for footwear and lifestyle fashion
- Fluent written and spoken English

Location
This role is based in Swansea. You may be required to travel to Europe.
Additional Information
- Salary - Experience dependent, starting from £25,000 per annum
- Annual Leave - 20 days plus Bank Holidays
