FI Facilities Management are recruiting and looking for a Maintenance Operative to join the team in a full time, permanent basis. The right candidate will provide general building maintenance at the Brunel premises to ensure that they are kept safe, secure and in good condition.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 16:30pm.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive building maintenance tasks such as painting, basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Work individually or as part of a team.
- Prioritise own workload to complete repairs in accordance with set timescales.
- Adhere to health and safety policy and procedures, identifying hazards and undertaking adequate point of work risk assessments for all work undertaken.
- Communicate effectively with tenants to minimise inconvenience when planning and undertaking building maintenance work.
- Responding to maintenance requests from centre management and tenants.
- Be willing to take part in the paid on call rota and cover 1 in every 3 weeks on call.
- Able to assist in emergencies at our site a 5 minute walk away
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within property maintenance.
- Experience of property maintenance work such as repairs, painting, floor repairs, joinery and basic plumbing.
- Customer focused approach with good communication skills
- Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and processes including the ability to identify and assess hazards and risks within the building.
- Good time management
- Basic understanding of computer programs and CAFM app usage.
- Be qualified in or be willing to undertake training in IPAF, Confined Spaces and Forklift Driving
- Experience as a locksmith desirable but not essential
