Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Minibus Driver to join our Day Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting clients safely and comfortably to various destinations, ensuring punctuality and excellent customer service. The position requires a valid driver licence, along with a strong focus on safety, communication, and vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a minibus to transport clients to and from the Day Centre and activities within the community.
- Ensure all passengers are seated securely and adhere to safety regulations at all times.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle’s condition, including fluid levels, tyres, lights, and brakes, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management regarding schedules or any operational concerns.
- Assist clients with boarding and alighting from the vehicle as needed, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
Requirements
- Valid driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Must be aged 25 and over for insurance purposes
- No D1 minibus licence required - driving licence must have been obtained before 1st January 1997
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred but not essential
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact courteously with clients and team members.
- Experience operating minibuses or similar vehicles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided if necessary.
- Excellent organisational skills with a focus on punctuality and safety compliance.
- A responsible attitude towards vehicle care and passenger safety is essential.
