Valuation and Strategic Assets (VASA) advises the Council on property assets to maximize value through letting, disposal, or acquisition. The team ensures optimal use of assets to deliver financial, social, and strategic outcomes and leads the development of the Council’s Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF).

Contribute to and support the delivery of the Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF).

Identify and evaluate property opportunities, including acquisitions, disposals, and redevelopment.

Support the development of the capital pipeline aligned with corporate priorities (housing, education, infrastructure).

Provide high-level professional advice on property and estate matters without supervision.

Manage landlord & tenant matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals, expiries, and break options.

Handle complex negotiations and transactional work, including joint ventures, land swaps, and CPO processes.

Manage dilapidations claims with the aim of minimizing liabilities.

At least 4 years post RICS accreditation membership.

Significant experience in estate management within a public or private sector property environment.

Proven track record in handling complex landlord & tenant matters and commercial negotiations.

Experience in managing property portfolios, disposals, acquisitions, and income generation strategies.

Degree in Estate Management, Real Estate, or a related discipline.

Professional membership of RICS (MRICS or equivalent) – essential.

Evidence of continued professional development.

Strong knowledge of property legislation, valuation principles, and asset management best practices.

Working hours: 35 hours per week.

Location: 6 Brixton Hill, London, Lambeth, SW2 1RW, United Kingdom.

Work pattern: 3 days remote, 2 days in the borough.
