Bradley David Associates is working with our client on the search for a Transport Planner, Felixstowe. This role involves coordinating transport operations, managing drivers, and ensuring service levels and revenue targets are consistently achieved.
Salary
£30,000 – £45,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Working Hours
45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekend on-call duties as required
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transport operations from Felixstowe and London Gateway using allocated traffic sheets
- Manage a fleet of assigned vehicles, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and service standards are met
- Oversee drivers, maintaining strong communication and professional working relationships
- Identify and resolve same-day operational issues quickly and effectively
- Book and manage VBS (Vehicle Booking System) slots accurately
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven ability to manage traffic planning in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with TOPS (preferred)
- Understanding of port operations and VBS systems
- Knowledge of the haulage and container industry
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
- Strong multitasking ability
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated, confident, and driven
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT proficiency
