Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive Accountant to join our Accountancy Firm. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills. The successful candidate will support the main Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with various accounting tasks using Sage & Taxcalc software systems to support our large client base. Prior experience with accounting software and data entry is desirable, and a strong organisational aptitude is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statement and preparing Corporation tax return, ensuring timely filing with HMRC.
- Support data entry activities related to financial records, invoices, and expense reports.
- Utilise accounting software such as Workday, Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks to maintain up-to-date financial data.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare supporting documentation for internal reviews.
- Preparing and filing Personal Tax returns for self employed.
- Assist in the management of financial documentation and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
- Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to the realisation of departmental objectives by maintaining organised records and providing administrative support as required.
Skills
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Taxcalc or QuickBooks.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounts preparing processes and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with financial services industry practices is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different accounting platforms and systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate within teams and across departments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement within financial processes.
Pay: £24,420.00-£40,521.85 per year
