Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment for young learners while ensuring the smooth running of nursery activities. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team of staff, maintaining high standards of childcare, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality care and education programmes.
- Develop and implement engaging early childhood education activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to maintain a skilled and motivated team.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and nursery policies.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met, including risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and resource procurement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery services and environment.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
- Experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare environments.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in early childhood care.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.

Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
