We are now looking to recruit an experienced Jewellery Repairer to join our team and take charge of jewellery repairs, alterations, and maintenance.
Role Overview
As a Jewellery Repairer, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality jewellery repairs and alterations. You will work with a range of precious metals and gemstones, ensuring all work meets our high standards. The role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to complete jobs within given timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct repairs and alterations on various types of jewellery, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
Carry out re-sizing, soldering, re-tipping, stone setting, polishing, and finishing of jewellery.
Work with precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum.
Set, replace, and secure gemstones with precision.
Inspect and assess jewellery items to determine necessary repairs.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are well cared for.
Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Support with the melting of precious metals as and when required.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines related to jewellery work.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless operations in the jewellery workshop.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Working Jeweller in a professional setting.
Strong skills in jewellery repair, stone setting, soldering, and polishing.
Experience working with a variety of precious metals and gemstones.
Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess repairs accurately.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable:
Formal qualifications in jewellery making, repair, or a related field.
Experience in using laser welding technology (preferred but not essential).
Knowledge of modern jewellery-making techniques and tools.
