We are seeking a friendly and organised Shop and Post Office Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their postal and retail needs
- Process postal transactions accurately, including weighing parcels, selling stamps, and managing postage options
- Handle cash, card payments, and perform basic maths calculations efficiently
- Support merchandising efforts by organising products on shelves and maintaining visual appeal
- Upsell additional services or products to maximise sales opportunities
- Provide information about postal services, products, and store promotions using clear communication skills
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
- Manage phone enquiries professionally, adhering to proper phone etiquette
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management as needed
- Support organisational tasks such as scheduling deliveries or coordinating with courier services
Requirements
- Fluency in English; proficiency in welsh is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience in merchandising or retail is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good time management skills to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
- Ability to provide friendly customer service with professional phone etiquette
- Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in managing stock and paperwork
- Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment
