Westbourne Care Home requires a dedicated Senior Carer, the ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team and have managerial experience, knowledge of CQC requirements is an advantage. Westbourne care home is a small home registered for 27 residents, the home is not part of a large organisation thus a family feel can be felt. The role would include one supernuamary day and three day on the floor to ensure our residents receive the best possible care. Must have experience in electronic care planning. Able to supervise staff and run a team.
Duties
- Supervise and support junior staff members in delivering exceptional care to residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure that care plans are followed accurately.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Provide personal care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior care or similar environment is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents and their families compassionately.
- Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining records and documentation related to care plans.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors, demonstrating empathy and patience at all times.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.

<Experience>
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within a healthcare or residential care setting.
- Strong knowledge of person-centered care principles and best practices in elderly or dementia care.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Experience in staff recruitment, training & development, and performance management.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to adult social care or nursing homes.
- Demonstrated ability to handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, record keeping, and reporting accurately.
