Our Haringey Children and Young People Mental Health Service is looking for a motivated and organised Band 3 Admin/Receptionist to provide high‑quality administrative and front‑of‑house support to our busy service. You will be the first point of contact for young people, families, and professionals, offering a welcoming, calm, and professional presence both in person and over the phone. The role includes managing reception duties, handling enquiries, booking appointments, processing referrals, maintaining accurate records, and supporting clinicians with essential administrative tasks. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the service, helping us deliver timely, safe, and effective care. This is a rewarding role for someone who is compassionate, efficient, and able to work confidently in a fast‑paced mental health setting.
To receive telephone calls and emails from outside agencies, deal with them or refer on as appropriate
To plan and coordinate your workload to ensure all deadlines are met and objectives achieved.
To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the service / department .
Deal with issues that arise appropriately, including enquiries or complaints from members of the public and patients.
Ensure good working relationships with all staff, the organisation and outside agencies.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
Your duties will encompass regular liaison regarding the keeping of the appointments, diary typing of letters and reports, taking and transcribing minutes at meetings as necessary, telephone liaison as necessary with external agencies and making appointments at the request of the service. You will assist in the maintenance of records, filing, faxing and photocopying and any duties essential to the comprehensive secretarial support service you will provide, and comply with other management requests.
Your dealings with matters relating to clients and staff is of a highly confidential nature and should not be divulged to another or discussed with other colleagues other than as necessary within the context of your role.
