Job Title: Care Assistant (Day's)
Location: Briercliffe Lodge
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing. As a Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued within the home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming).
- Support residents with mobility, including safe transferring and positioning.
- Help with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring nutritional intake where required.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to engage in social activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with policies and procedures.
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental health to senior staff.
- Promote dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not essential, as training may be provided.
- A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record keeping.
- Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care (preferred).
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards) is desirable.
Working Hours:
- Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
