Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Production Operative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to the handling of goods. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment. The job holder will do all tasks within his/her level of skill and ability.
Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Execute picking and packing of orders accurately, preparing items for shipment.
- Load and unload goods from lorries, if trained, ensuring all items are handled with care.
- Learn and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of machine set up to perform filling tasks.
- Handle materials in accordance with company policies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain an organised workspace, keeping stock areas tidy and accessible.
- Operate within standard operating procedures.
- Continuously operate to meet Company KPIs.
- Communicate with operatives from other shifts.
- Perform any other reasonable request or task.
- Attend any training courses necessary in relation to new machinery requirements;
- Complete all relevant checks as required on equipment and tools according to the SOPs.
- All Workplace Health and Safety regulations to be adhered to on site.
- Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
- Assist in training of new starters
- Awareness of site security, hygiene & PPE requirements
- Awareness of site certification i.e., ISO Certificates and standards
- Complying to site rules
Requirements, Experience, & Education (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Attention to detail
- Appropriate level of numeracy and literacy
- First Aid Training (desirable)
- Fork Lift Truck Licence (desirable);
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques and physical endurance for manual handling tasks.
- Strong skills in picking and packing processes to ensure order accuracy.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Competence in loading and unloading procedures for efficient goods handling.
- Excellent materials handling skills, ensuring safe transport of goods within the warehouse.

Working days: Monday - Friday
6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm on a two weekly cycle
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.13-£15.65 per hour
