The role
As our Senior Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our warehouse operations. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you will help oversee daily activities, support the wider warehouse team, and ensure stock moves safely and efficiently from goods-in through to dispatch.
This is a hands-on role for someone with previous warehouse experience who is ready to take on additional responsibility, support improvements, and help maintain excellent operational standards.
Your typical day will include:
- Picking and allocating stock for dispatch
- Packaging goods securely and preparing them for shipment
- Checking the quality of products before they leave the warehouse
- Glazing timber doors (full training provided)
- Loading and unloading vehicles manually and with an FLT
- Checking products against delivery notes, including measuring door sizes and glass apertures
- Lifting and moving bulky stock items throughout the workspace
- Completing stock checks and investigating any discrepancies
- Completing and managing Closing Down Collection Sheets
- Completing and managing Closing Down Courier Sheets
- Investigating and resolving warehouse issues quickly and effectively
- Monitoring and updating warehouse processes to improve efficiency
- Supporting the training and development of warehouse staff
- Assisting the Warehouse Manager with daily operational tasks
- Deputising for the Warehouse Manager when required
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
What we are looking for from the successful candidate will be:
- Previous experience working within a warehouse environment is essential
- Experience taking responsibility for warehouse processes and daily operations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- A proactive, can-do attitude – essential within our smaller team environment
- Confidence supporting and training other team members
- Experience using warehouse systems, Excel, and computer-based records
- Fork lift truck experience
- Full driving licence
