Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer

Our client’s new Manchester office is looking to recruit Residential Conveyancing Solicitors and Licensed Conveyancers to join a friendly, experienced, and people-focused team.

The Role
You will manage your own varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion, including:
- Sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity
- New builds and shared ownership matters
- Investigating title and preparing clear, accurate reports
- Drafting contracts, TR1/TP1s, completion statements, and related documentation
- Proactively progressing matters and keeping clients and agents informed
- Managing exchange and completion with precision
- Handling all post-completion work, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
Client Care & Communication
You will be trusted to:
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and consistently
- Build strong relationships with clients, agents, lenders, and brokers
- Anticipate queries and provide updates before clients need to chase
- Handle pressure calmly while keeping transactions moving
- Act as a key point of contact throughout the transaction lifecycle
Compliance & Quality
Quality is central to this role. You will be responsible for:
- Meeting AML, ID, and source of funds requirements
- Producing accurate client care documentation and correspondence
- Maintaining clear and up-to-date case management records
- Supporting low requisition and complaint rates across the department
- Taking pride in doing things properly and to a high standard
Financial Awareness & Performance
You will contribute to the success of the team by:
- Managing WIP, billing, and aged debt effectively
- Recording time accurately
- Meeting monthly fee targets
- Minimising write-offs
- Demonstrating a clear understanding of the commercial side of legal practice
Business Development & Team Contribution
This role goes beyond pure file handling. You will also:
- Maintain and develop relationships with referrers
- Support business development initiatives and attend networking events
- Assist with cross-selling wider legal services
- Support junior team members and share knowledge
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and best practice
- Play an active role in a collaborative and supportive team culture
About You
- Proven experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload
- Strong drafting and title investigation skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, commercially aware approach
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines
- Confident using case management systems and IT
- Experience with leasehold, new build, or complex titles (desirable)
- Qualified as a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer (CLC)
