We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed and ferry trailers and other commercial vehicle trailers to deliver goods to specified locations
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
- Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays
Qualifications
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly flatbed lorries or similar equipment
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or equivalent
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure
- Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
