Senior Catering Assistant
Join our friendly catering team at the heritage railway and help create memorable experiences for our visitors.
As a Senior Catering Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day operation of our catering outlets, on-train services, and special events. Working alongside the Catering Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, preparing food, maintaining high hygiene standards, and supporting stock management.
What You'll Be Doing:
Providing friendly and professional customer service.
Preparing and serving food and beverages.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Assisting with stock control, rotation, and replenishment.
Supporting catering operations for special events and on-train services.
Assisting with stocktaking and basic administrative duties.
Working closely with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
Experience in catering, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing role.
Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A positive, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
Full driving licence preferred, as occasional work may be required at our County School Tearoom.
Additional Information
This role requires flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and occasional evenings. Some manual handling and cleaning duties are part of the position.
Pay: £13.39-£14.16 per hour
