Health & Safety Officer
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and organised Health & Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely alongside our external Health & Safety Consultant to ensure safe working practices are maintained across all company sites and operations, while ensuring full compliance with current UK Health & Safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety checks across all active sites
- Manage and monitor the company’s cloud-based compliance and checking system
- Issue, review, and control Permits to Work for all on-site activities
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, including reporting, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions
- Work closely with site managers and consultants to develop, review, and maintain Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Ensure all site activities comply with company procedures, policies, and legal requirements
- Monitor contractor compliance and overall site safety performance
- Support the continuous improvement of health and safety standards throughout the business
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and health & safety documentation
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within a warehouse or industrial environment
- Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practices
- Experience with permit-to-work systems and conducting site inspections
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Competent IT skills and experience using cloud-based management systems ,
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent qualification) preferred, or willingness to work towards achieving this
- Full UK driving licence preferred

Experience:
- Health and Safety: 2 years (required)
- HACCP: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- NEBOSH or equivalent diploma (preferred)
- UK Driving Licence (required)
