We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our welcoming Speech and Language Therapy team on our Stroke Rehabilitation Unit . This is a highly rewarding role where you'll work alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists, supporting adults recovering from stroke to regain their communication and swallowing abilities and maximise their independence.

Working under the guidance of qualified Speech and Language Therapists, you will play an important role in supporting assessment, rehabilitation and recovery for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties.

Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering individual and group therapy programmes, including computer-based therapy.
Supporting patients with communication, speech and swallowing rehabilitation.
Adapting therapy activities to meet each patient's needs and encourage progress.
Preparing therapy resources, communication aids and personalised patient materials.
Supporting patients with prescribed oral trials and monitoring their progress under supervision.
Maintaining accurate clinical records using our electronic patient record system.
Liaising with ward teams, carers and community services to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Supporting discharge planning and ensuring patients have appropriate follow-up arrangements.
Providing administrative support to the Speech and Language Therapy team, including maintaining resources and responding to telephone enquiries
