We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Child Care Practitioner to join our team. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential care setting. Honeycomb Care Children’s Service are a dedicated and compassionate children’s residential care provider supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We provide a safe, stable, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment where children are supported to heal, develop resilience, and achieve positive long-term outcomes.

The Role
As a Senior Residential Children’s Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day care, development, and safeguarding of children and young people within the home.
You will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering high-quality, consistent, and trauma-informed care, while also providing guidance and support to junior staff on shift.
This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their career into a Deputy Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people with EBD
- Act as a positive role model for children and staff
- Support and guide junior staff on shift
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and key working
- Promote safeguarding and ensure children’s welfare is always prioritised
- Support positive behaviour approaches rooted in therapeutic practice
- Encourage independence, education, and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in children’s residential care (EBD or similar setting)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Good understanding and application of safeguarding procedures
- Ability to build safe, professional, and trusting relationships
- Emotional resilience and a calm, consistent approach
- Strong communication and emerging leadership skills
- Commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred care
Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential or equivalent)
- Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desirable or willingness to work towards)

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
