Operations Coordinator - SEN Passenger Transport
Clover Cars is a growing passenger transport company specialising in SEN (Special Educational Needs) school transport. We are looking for a proactive and organised Operations Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in coordinating our daily transport operations, working closely with drivers, passenger assistants, schools, parents and local authorities to ensure our services run safely, efficiently and on time.
Previous experience within the transport or logistics industry would be beneficial but is not essential. We are happy to provide full training for the right candidate with strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Main Purpose of the Role
You will support the day-to-day coordination of our transport operations, ensuring our passengers, particularly children with Special Educational Needs-receive a safe, reliable and professional service. You'll be responsible for responding to operational issues, communicating with key stakeholders and helping the wider team deliver an excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations
- Coordinate daily SEN school transport schedules.
- Respond to last-minute route changes and operational issues.
- Liaise with drivers, passenger assistants, schools, parents and local authorities.
- Monitor driver attendance and support the smooth running of daily operations.
Bookings & Scheduling
- Manage transport bookings and allocate vehicles and drivers.
- Keep customers informed of schedule changes where required.
Administration
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to operational enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records using internal systems.
- Provide administrative support to the wider operations team.
Customer Service
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Log and escalate complaints where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with customers, drivers and stakeholders.
Compliance
- Support compliance with transport regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with incident reporting and maintaining operational standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive, reliable and professional approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience within the transport or logistics industry.
- Experience in an operations, scheduling, administration or coordination role.
- Knowledge of SEN transport, local authority contracts or safeguarding (advantageous but not essential).
Hours
- 45 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Shift pattern between 9:00am-7:00pm (rota basis)
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
