We are looking for a skilled and motivated Structural Detailer to join our growing engineering team. Reporting directly to the Detailing Supervisor, you will play a key role in transforming engineering and architectural designs into accurate, high-quality drawing packages for manufacture and installation.
Working with industry-leading software, including Tekla Structures and Strumis ERP, you will be responsible for producing detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, material schedules, and erection drawings that support the successful delivery of structural steelwork projects.

- Interpret client engineering and architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Develop detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures for structural steelwork, including:
- Substation support structures
- Access platforms
- Stairs
- Gantries
- Other structural assemblies
- Produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings for client review and approval.
- Create assembly and part drawings for fabrication in line with company manufacturing capabilities.
- Generate material take-offs and bolt schedules to support estimating and procurement activities.
- Prepare clear and accurate erection drawings to support site installation.
- Carry out site surveys and visits when required.
- Import CAM/BIM information into Strumis ERP, including material nesting and workshop work order generation.
- Raise and manage Technical Queries (TQs) and maintain project TQ registers.
- Review and check the work of colleagues, providing constructive feedback and supporting quality improvements.
- Work closely with the estimating team to provide preliminary material listings for project pricing.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Structural Detailer or Steel Detailer role.
- Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures.
- Experience producing fabrication and erection drawings for structural steelwork projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Strumis ERP or similar manufacturing software would be advantageous.
