Overview:
We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in a bustling restaurant setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in food production and leading the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen operations
- Ensure high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation are consistently maintained
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen inventory efficiently
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to meet customer needs and preferences
- Contribute creative ideas for menu development and special dishes
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CDP or Junior Sous or similar role in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work within a team effectively
- Solid understanding of hospitality industry practices and standards
- Proficient in all aspects of food production, from preparation to presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications would be advantageous
