Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Paver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying and finishing paving surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in masonry and construction, contributing to a variety of outdoor projects including walkways, driveways, and patios.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by clearing debris and ensuring a level foundation for paving work
- Lay bricks, blocks, or stones accurately according to project specifications
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and levels to position and secure paving materials
- Operate power tools including compactors and saws safely and efficiently
- Mix mortar or concrete as needed for bonding materials together
- Assist with site preparation, including excavation and grading
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and levels
- Experience in all Aspects of paving work
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
