Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Technician to join our workshop team based in Dungannon. This is a full-time Monday to Friday day-shift position offering a competitive salary of up to £62,000 per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles to ensure they remain safe, roadworthy, and compliant with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT/annual tests and ensure compliance with DVSA/DVA regulations.
- Complete service documentation and job records accurately.
- Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe.
- Communicate effectively with the workshop team and management regarding vehicle condition and repair progress.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or similar role.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Good knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems including engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and diagnostics.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence beneficial but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
