Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bank Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers flexible shifts to support our care home, assisted living, and home care services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient wellbeing and have experience in senior care, dementia care, or hospice care. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to our residents and clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity are maintained at all times. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility support
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed care plans and medical guidance
- Support patients with specialised needs including Alzheimer's and dementia care, behaviour management, and case management
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and clients
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including medication administration and patient progress
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Support with medical procedures under supervision, including basic first aid when necessary
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as required
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in nursing homes, care homes, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and care planning processes
- Certifications such as first aid are advantageous
- Experience with Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice, or senior care is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or equipment handling
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently when needed
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of residents or clients
