Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a proactive approach, strong technical knowledge, and excellent organisational skills to support ongoing operational efficiency. The ideal applicant will possess a blend of mechanical, electrical, and supervisory expertise, with a focus on delivering high-quality maintenance services.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals, implementing effective repair solutions.
- Perform welding and mechanical repairs as required to maintain equipment integrity.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring safety standards are met.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings accurately.
- Supervise maintenance tasks carried out by team members or contractors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
- Lead by example in promoting safety awareness and best practices within the maintenance team.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience, including working with PLCs and electrical schematics.
- Skilled in welding techniques and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities in managing teams or projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly document technical information.
- Prior experience in customer service environments is advantageous, highlighting a service-oriented approach.
