Quantec is an established electrical testing and compliance company providing services to local authorities, NHS trusts, schools, housing providers, commercial clients and major contractors throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an IT & Business Systems Coordinator to take ownership of the company's IT infrastructure, reporting systems and business databases.
This is a key position within the business and would suit somebody who enjoys problem solving, improving processes and supporting users whilst taking responsibility for the systems that keep a growing company operating efficiently.
The Role
As our IT & Business Systems Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Quantec's IT systems, hardware, software and business databases.
You will set up and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices and user accounts, whilst providing technical support to office staff and engineers across the business. A key part of the role will involve managing and troubleshooting our bespoke reporting software, Excel-based report writing systems and in-house management database, ensuring they remain reliable and efficient.
This is a hands-on position that combines IT support, systems administration, database management and business process improvement. You will work closely with all departments, helping to identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system performance and support the continued growth of the business.
The successful candidate will become the primary internal point of contact for IT and systems-related matters and will play a vital role in keeping the business operating smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure new PCs, laptops, tablets and mobile devices
- Create, manage and maintain Microsoft 365 user accounts, email accounts and permissions
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain and support engineers' laptops and field reporting systems
- Install, update and troubleshoot software across the business
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues
- Maintain company hardware and software asset registers
- Manage company device inventories and deployments
- Monitor and maintain company servers, backups and security systems
- Manage antivirus software, spam filtering and cybersecurity best practices
- Troubleshoot and maintain the company's Excel-based report writing systems
- Investigate and resolve report generation and data issues
- Support, maintain and develop the company's in-house management database
- Produce reports and management information from business systems
- Liaise with software developers and external IT providers when required
- Assist with the implementation of new systems and technologies
- Provide day-to-day IT support and training to office staff and engineers
- Maintain system documentation, user guides and process records
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology
- Assist with general office administration duties when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and PC hardware
- Experience managing email systems, user accounts and permissions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with business databases and management systems
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting bespoke business software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, SQL or database administration
- Experience managing cloud-based systems
- Experience with device management platforms
- Basic networking knowledge
- Experience working within an engineering, construction, compliance or service-based business
