Multi Trade Operative – Kitchen & Bathroom Refurbishments

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Multi Trade Operative to join our growing team, delivering kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes across social housing properties in Southampton and the surrounding areas. Working within occupied homes, you will carry out high-quality installation, repair, and finishing works while providing excellent customer service to residents.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with a strong carpentry background and experience completing refurbishment projects within social housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works within occupied and void social housing properties.
- Complete all aspects of 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, including kitchen installations, worktops, doors, skirting, architraves, boxing-in, shelving, and general joinery.
- Undertake associated multi-trade works including basic plumbing, wall and floor tiling, patch plastering, decorating, flooring repairs, and making good.
- Remove and replace kitchen and bathroom units, sanitaryware, fixtures, and fittings.
- Carry out snagging works and ensure all properties are left clean, safe, and ready for handover.
- Work closely with tenants, site supervisors, and other trades to minimise disruption and ensure a high standard of customer care.
- Accurately record completed works using handheld devices or job management systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe and tidy condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative within social housing or residential refurbishment.
- Strong carpentry skills with experience fitting kitchens and bathrooms.
- Competent in basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, decorating, and general maintenance.
- Experience working in occupied properties with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry or a relevant trade.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- CSCS Card.
- Experience using PDA or job management systems.
- DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
