About the Role
We are excited to offer a new opportunity to join our Children and Young People’s service as a Wellbeing Worker: Boxing for Wellbeing. This role focuses on delivering engaging, structured Boxercise-based sessions in primary and secondary schools across Oxfordshire.
You will play a key role in supporting children and young people to develop practical tools for managing their wellbeing, while also raising awareness of mental health. In addition, you will contribute to expanding the range of physical wellbeing activities available within our community hubs, supporting adults in improving their mental health through movement and activity. This is a rewarding and impactful role, ideal for someone passionate about mental health, physical activity, and working with diverse groups.
This is an exciting new role which will enable us to expand our Children and Young People’s service by delivering Boxing for Wellbeing in Primary and Secondary Schools across Oxfordshire. This will enable us to empower more children and young people with the tools needed to support their wellbeing, and to raise awareness of mental health in this age group.
This role will help to expand the range of physical activities on offer in our Wellbeing hubs to empower adults with the tools to support their wellbeing.
About the Service
This role sits within the CYP team, and is designed to allow us to support more children and young people outside of a primary care setting. It will generate income to support our work in primary care.
Our CYP team sits within a wider Primary Care service, which provides mental health and wellbeing support for children, young people and adults.
The Localities Service provides holistic wellbeing support to anyone in Oxfordshire experiencing a mental health issue or poor mental wellbeing, empowering people in their own recovery. They offer an initial Advice and Guidance session to help people identify their wellbeing support needs and signpost to a wide range of services available within Oxfordshire Mind and in the local community. They offer a broad range of peer support groups, physical activity sessions, workshops and short courses to enable people to learn tools and strategies to improve their wellbeing.
About You
We are currently looking to recruit a Wellbeing Worker: Boxing for Wellbeing and would really welcome applications for it.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Boxing for Wellbeing sessions in schools and community settings
- Facilitate group workshops, assemblies, and wellbeing activities
- Promote mental health awareness among children, young people, and adults
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants
- Adapt sessions to meet the needs of different groups
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, schools, and partner organisations
- Travel to various locations across Oxfordshire to deliver sessions
Essential Skills & Experience
- Good understanding of mental health issues and the needs of children, young people, and adults
- Understanding of safeguarding practices for children and adults
- Experience working in mental health, wellbeing, or a related field
- Experience working in demanding or fast-paced environments
- Significant experience delivering group-based educational or wellbeing activities
- Experience creating and delivering presentations or training sessions
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Basic IT skills (e.g. email, documents, online platforms)
- Ability to travel to different sites (a driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial)
- Understanding of and commitment to our organisational values
Qualifications & Training
- Completion of Boxercise (or equivalent boxing fitness) training
