Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. This role involves accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting the pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and a commitment to ensuring patient safety. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is highly desirable, along with a passion for assisting patients with their medication needs.

Duties

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders
Provide guidance to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
Support inventory management by checking stock levels and placing orders for replenishment
Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
Administer medications under supervision where applicable, ensuring proper documentation and patient care standards are met
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans and medication adherence

Experience

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is advantageous
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and record keeping requirements is desirable
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role
